A Rostery with a Coffee Shop
SlowMov is a roastery with a coffee shop. Not the other way around. The coffee is roasted for wholesale to restaurants and other cafés. The coffee shop is a side benefit of the production, like a live workshop where you can enjoy the freshly roasted coffee and buy it to take home.
SlowMov also help new businesses create gastronomic concepts, events or tastings with quality products and gives training in the disciplines of specialty coffee.
Slow Living All The Way Through
The coffee is roasted in the back of the shop on the huge coffee roaster, which is a craft in itself.
Everything at is made in the Slow Life sustainable philosophy. The coffee beans are imported from producers and exporters. All produce is local, seasonal, organic, prepared with the utmost attention and the packaging is 100% compostable.
All coffees are single-origin, 100% Arabica from specific microclimates and areas. The coffees vary according to the season and each bean is roasted exclusively to get the best out of it. And it does!
A Vison Beyond Selling Coffee
The owners Carmen from Barcelona and François from Paris previously worked with gastronomy. They got inspired by the Slow Food philosophy, which they decided to apply to making specialty coffee and with this vision they started SlowMov.
All the way through you sense that Carmen and François have a passion to share with the world – that goes beyond selling coffee. SlowMov is special because the people behind are driven by passion. It’s their spirit behind that creates the extraordinary coffee experience.
A Peaceful Start of The Day
Even though SlowMov is located in the center of Barcelona, it’s tucked away in between the bigger streets hidden in a quiet part of Gracia with a peaceful local atmosphere.
The space is minimalistic with an authentic casual vibe and illuminated in daylight from the tall windows and the entrance. Bring your laptop to work or just hangout in a slow-paced energy that makes the city rush disappear for a while.
It’s a peaceful start of the morning to have a coffee with a croissant, granola or peanut butter cookie. All homemade high-quality products.
After Lunch Coffee
For snack time my favourite is the classic Affogato with a handcrafted vegan chocolate ice-cream with hazelnuts from the Italian Ice-cream bar Parallelo one street away.
